Army+ has launched its largest training course, focused on defense procurement

A new course on defense procurement and its mechanisms has started in the Army+ app. The course teaches users how to plan procurements, streamline the process in military units, analyze the supplier market, and conduct tenders. The course is beneficial for military personnel involved in procurement, supply, and logistics.

“We are continuously expanding the Army+ training and educational platform with courses on military-related topics. Previously, we launched courses on Ukrainian history, the DOT-Chain system, and financial literacy. Today, we have introduced a course on defense procurement—the largest educational material released on the platform so far,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development.

In nearly 7 hours, experts will provide comprehensive guidance on this complex topic. “We continue to evolve the app into an ecosystem that supports service members in addressing any service-related needs,” Kateryna Chernohorenko added.

The course includes 52 video lessons, with each module concluding with a knowledge acquisition test. After completing all modules, participants must pass a final exam to receive an electronic certificate of completion.

Army+ now offers a total of 11 educational courses. 83,000 service members are currently undergoing training, with 33,000 having successfully completed at least one course. The most popular courses are ‘UAV Fundamentals: An Introduction to Unmanned Systems” and “Information Resilience: Cybersecurity.”

“Creating a network of qualified procurement specialists through specialized training is crucial for advancing best practices and ensuring that military personnel receive the best equipment at the optimal price-to-quality ratio,” emphasized Lieutenant Colonel John Anthistle, Capability Planning Advisor to the UK Special Defence Advisory Team.

The training program was developed by a joint team from the Defence procurement Reform Project (Public Union ‘Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine’) and the Office for Support of Changes at the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, under the framework of the support program led by the UK Special Defence Advisor.
