Ukraine and Italy discussed steps to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence

Ukraine’s Minister of Defence Evgeniy Khmara spoke with Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto.
The two sides discussed security challenges, the situation on the front, Ukraine’s actions against the enemy, and the key needs of the Defence Forces.
Countering russia’s aerial terror
Jet-powered drones and ballistic missiles are currently among the main threats.
russia is ramping up its production and intensifying its terror against Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv.
Ukraine therefore counts on its partners’ support in several critical priority areas: financing, the supply of specific types of weapons, primarily air defence systems, as well as technologies and assets to strike the enemy.
Ukraine’s war plan
At the same time, as Evgeniy Khmara noted, Ukraine is developing its own war plan and stepping up asymmetric actions against russia to minimise its ability to wage war.

Evgeniy Khmara thanked Italy and Ukraine’s partners for their support and willingness to contribute to Ukraine’s defence.
