Army+ has introduced a new training course, with a focus on ground robotic systems

A new training course, focusing on ground robotic systems (GRS), has launched in the Army+ app.

This marks the second course on unmanned systems. The first one, focused on UAVs, is currently the most popular, with over 30,000 military personnel already enrolled. The new course provides users with an overview of ground robotic system types, guidance on integrating them into unit operations, technical maintenance procedures, and the essential knowledge to become a GRS operator.

The course includes 11 video lessons, with each module concluding with a knowledge acquisition test. After completing all modules, participants must pass a final exam to receive an electronic certificate of completion.

“According to the first Army+ survey, unmanned systems emerged as the top training priority, selected by the largest share of military respondents—16%. We started with UAVs. Now, we are providing up-to-date knowledge on ground robotic systems (GRS). These systems deliver ammunition, conduct reconnaissance, and are essential for demining operations in hazardous areas. Yet most importantly, they save lives by carrying out high-risk missions while being operated remotely,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development.

The launch of the training courses program was made possible with the support of the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO). The Army+ application now features a total of twelve training courses. 88,000 service members are currently undergoing training, with 35,000 having successfully completed at least one course. The most popular courses are ‘UAV Fundamentals: An Introduction to Unmanned Systems” and “Information Resilience: Cybersecurity.”
