White list for Starlink terminals: How to find the KIT number and UTID identifier to complete verification and use your terminal in Ukraine

Ukraine is implementing a whitelist for Starlink satellite terminals in response to russia’s unlawful use of drones equipped with this commercially available technology to terrorize civilians.

Soon, only verified and registered terminals will be permitted to operate in Ukraine; all others will be disconnected. For reasons of heightened caution, authorized terminals will be permitted to operate only in stationary mode and at low speeds during movement.

To verify a Starlink terminal, users only need to complete a simple and user-friendly verification process.  First, identify the KIT number and/or UTID identifier of your Starlink terminal.

The Ministry of Defence explains how to do this.

The KIT number for the Starlink kit is printed on the shipping label. For example: KIT00000000.

The UTID identifier is available in the Starlink app. If you recently downloaded the Starlink app, tap “Connect to Wi-Fi” and select the STARLINK network.

On the Starlink app home screen, tap the Menu button in the top-left corner of the page. Then scroll down and tap the information icon (i) to view details for the UTID identifier.

In the Starlink section, find the Starlink ID / Terminal ID. For example: 01000000-00000000-00e1c9f7. Ignore the “ut” prefix at the beginning.

The Ministry of Defence previously published detailed instructions on how to complete Starlink verification.
