Ukraine will soon receive a new military aid package from Poland

Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, met with Paweł Zalewski, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Poland. The officials discussed the needs of the Defence Forces of Ukraine and priority areas of military cooperation.

During the meeting, Ukrainian officials briefed their Polish counterparts on the current battlefield situation and the Ukrainian military's priority needs. Ivan Havryliuk stated that strengthening air defense capabilities and securing the supply of 155 mm munitions remain priority needs. He also highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation between the two countries' defense industries.

Paweł Zalewski, for his part, reiterated Poland's continued comprehensive support for Ukraine in its fight against the aggressor and expressed Poland's intention to join the ‘coalition of the willing,’ focused on ensuring future peace in Ukraine.

“We are committed to supporting Ukraine. We recognize that Ukraine's security and sovereignty, along with its Defence Forces' strength, are key to the security of Europe and Poland. We support the establishment of the ‘coalition of the willing’ in Europe. We will be a member of it, however we will not send our troops to Ukraine. Our role will be to ensure logistics and the necessary infrastructure,” said the Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Poland.

Furthermore, he stated that a new military aid package has been prepared and will be supplied in the near future.

The parties also exchanged views on the evolving geopolitical situation and its impact on the defense capabilities of Ukraine and Europe.

“Today, dynamic events are unfolding not just in the history of Ukraine and Europe but also globally. We must be ready for all challenges. The future of generations to come, both in Ukraine and Poland, depends on us,” said Ivan Havryliuk.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine reiterated his gratitude to the people and government of Poland for the substantial military and humanitarian aid provided.
