Ukraine to receive new aid packages following ‘Ramstein’ meeting

Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Rustem Umerov, summarized the outcomes of the 27th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (‘Ramstein’ format), which took place on 11 April 2025 in Brussels.
The meeting commenced with an address by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who expressed gratitude to all Ramstein meeting participants and underscored the critical need for additional Patriot surface-to-air missile systems.
Today, only these air defense systems are capable of protecting Ukrainian cities from ballistic missiles used by russians to kill civilians and destroy infrastructure and residential buildings. In line with the President’s directive to intensify cooperation with partners on strengthening air defense, Minister Rustem Umerov reported tangible results that will bolster Ukraine’s ability to protect its skies from russian attacks.
According to the Defence Minister, since the previous meeting, partners have announced over $21 billion in security assistance to Ukraine, reflecting the unified resolve of the free world.
“51 countries have united today to help Ukraine. I am grateful to the United Kingdom and Germany for their leadership at the meeting. Thanks to my good friends John Healey and Boris Pistorius for ensuring that the work within the UDCG (‘Ramstein’ format) continues,” Rustem Umerov emphasized.
As a result of the meeting, additional steps to assist Ukraine were announced:
- Germany will deliver four IRIS-T air defense systems and 300 interceptor missiles for them in 2025. Germany will also provide 30 missiles for the Patriot system, 15 Leopard 1 tanks, 25 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, and an additional 100,000 artillery shells. In total, additional aid through 2029 will amount to €11 billion.
- The United Kingdom will provide £450 million in assistance, including hundreds of thousands of drones, radar systems, and maintenance services for previously supplied equipment.
- Norway has contributed £100 million to finance the aid package announced by the United Kingdom. In total, Norway has increased its military support for 2025 by €5 billion. It also announced €1 billion in assistance, including for ammunition and air and missile defense.
- Belgium has announced a military aid package valued at €1 billion.
- Denmark has announced its 25th military aid package, valued at nearly €900 million.
- Lithuania intends to allocate €20 million for the procurement of ammunition.
- Estonia will soon provide Ukraine with 10,000 artillery shells, as well as field rations to support the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
- The Netherlands is allocating €150 million to enhance Ukraine's air defense.
“Another key outcome of the meeting was the establishment of the Electronic Warfare (EW) Coalition, led by Germany. This decision aligns with the current needs and strengthens our warriors at the front,” said Rustem Umerov.
