Ukraine and Denmark discuss countering ballistic threats and jet-powered drones
Ukraine’s Minister of Defence Evgeniy Khmara held a phone call with Denmark's Minister of Defence Jeppe Bruus.
During the call, the parties discussed the most critical needs of the Defence Forces of Ukraine, strengthening capabilities to counter ballistic threats and jet-powered strike drones, implementing the FREYJA anti-ballistic project, and deepening defence cooperation between Ukraine and Denmark.
Countering ballistic and jet-powered drone threats
Evgeniy Khmara briefed his Danish counterpart on the Defence Forces of Ukraine's most critical needs.
Particular attention was paid to countering ballistic and jet-powered strike drone threats.
The ministers discussed concrete opportunities to strengthen Ukraine’s capabilities in these areas, particularly through developing interceptor and electronic warfare (EW) solutions.
FREYJA project
The parties also discussed implementing key joint initiatives.
In particular, the talks covered the FREYJA anti-ballistic project, which is intended to strengthen the capabilities of Ukraine and its partners to counter ballistic threats.
Mutually beneficial defence cooperation
Evgeniy Khmara and Jeppe Bruus also discussed opportunities to deepen mutually beneficial defence cooperation between Ukraine and Denmark.
Ukraine stands ready to share the operational experience and expertise it has gained in countering modern threats, particularly in unmanned systems.
Ukraine is also ready to contribute to partner training.
Evgeniy Khmara thanked Denmark for its exceptionally strong support for Ukraine and its leadership in providing defence assistance.
