Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence and NATO advance innovation cooperation

Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Valerii Churkin and Chairman of the NATO DIANA Accelerator Programme’s Board Dennis Gyllensporre discussed cooperation aspects.
Valerii Churkin held a meeting in Kyiv with a delegation, which included representatives from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV).
The Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine thanked Sweden and NATO for all the assistance provided in countering russian aggression. “Sweden and the Swedish people are true friends of Ukraine,” said the Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
Lieutenant General Dennis Gyllensporre, Chairman of the NATO DIANA Programme’s Board, emphasized that Ukraine's experience in implementing defense innovations is of great importance to his organization.
“We are observing your efforts and your work. We also want to understand how we can further support you,” said Dennis Gyllensporre.
DIANA (the Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic) was established by NATO to identify and scale innovative capabilities within the Alliance.
DIANA provides companies with resources and expertise to develop technologies to address challenges in defense and security.
Valerii Churkin briefed the delegation on Ukraine’s ways of advancements in unmanned systems and their critical role in repelling russian aggression. The discussion specifically highlighted the collaboration between the state and the private sector in developing this domain.
He underscored Ukraine’s openness to cooperation with international partners, particularly in technology exchange and establishing joint production ventures.
