Ukraine and EU deepen cyber security cooperation - Kateryna Chernohorenko

This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine following the participation in the 3rd EU-Ukraine Cyber Dialogue in Brussels. The participants agreed on the deepening of cooperation on cyber security in the context of russian aggression and negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU.

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has announced its intention to strengthen cyber security partnerships with the private sector to help improve cyber resilience. The new initiative, called Soft Power, will bring together leading engineers, developers and programmers from the private sector and universities in Ukraine and partner countries to create advanced solutions for unmanned systems. This collaboration will be a long-term driver of the defense industry's culture of innovation.

"Our digitalization is now accelerating. More systems are being created and deployed. More systems and more data need to be protected. The scope of cyber warfare is growing. We deeply appreciate the partners who actively support Ukraine in our defense efforts, and we will always be grateful to those who support us today. I hope we will be able to create more opportunities for cooperation with the EU in the field of cyber security, in particular through the IT Coalition, to ensure a better resilience of our infrastructure," said Kateryna Chernohorenko.

EU representatives reaffirmed their support for Ukraine's ability to withstand cyberattacks and disruptions to critical infrastructure. Participants discussed the changing cyber threat landscape, new legislative initiatives, efforts to build cyber resilience and protection, and cooperation to counter malicious cyber activity.

The parties agreed on the achievement of concrete results by the fourth round of the Cyber Dialogue to be held in 2025.
