To support Ukraine, the IT Coalition has successfully accumulated €157 million
Since launching in September 2023, the IT Coalition has raised €157 million in financial assistance for Ukraine. The total comprises 70 million in donations, which features the previously announced 10 million from the Netherlands and 87 million from Germany provided as SAP licenses. Ukraine obtained equipment and software that totaled 99 million from this overall amount.
The regular IT Coalition meeting was held in Amsterdam. The previous gathering of the Coalition member countries took place in July. Since then, the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received new supplies from Canada, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Denmark and Luxembourg assisted in centralized equipment acquisition and licenses through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency.
“Cybersecurity is one of the key areas of our efforts. The IT Coalition's deliveries will bolster this domain, given that russian attacks on our cyber infrastructure are ongoing. These supplies will also help scale up the Innovation Center’s projects and contribute to the further implementation of the SAP system in the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development.
Throughout the gathering, Coalition members discussed the rollout of the roadmap, the procurement strategies, and the needs of the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of Ukraine in building IT infrastructure.
“Alongside pursuing financial support through 2024, the IT Coalition has focused on speeding up the procurement process and delivering aid to Ukraine. Our goal is to supply as much equipment as possible to harness the benefits that technological advancements can bring to the battlefield,” said Tuuli Duneton, Deputy Defence Minister of Estonia.
The IT Coalition, led by Estonia and Luxembourg, is one of eight Capability Coalitions within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group. The Coalition focuses on providing IT, communications, and cybersecurity support to the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Coalition currently includes 14 partner countries and Ukraine. In September, the Coalition welcomed Finland and Spain as new participants. Several more countries are expected to join soon.
