Denys Shmyhal discussed defence cooperation with the Minister of Defence of the Slovak Republic

Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, held talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Slovak Republic, Robert Kaliňák

The parties discussed key issues of defence cooperation and further support for Ukraine.

Denys Shmyhal thanked the Slovak side for providing financial assistance of €3.5 million at the end of last year

With these funds, we expect the production and delivery of five ‘Bozena 5’ vehicles for humanitarian demining in the first half of next year. We held substantive discussions and agreed on the next steps on Slovakia’s delivery of the 14th package of non-lethal assistance. This package will include equipment critical to Ukraine’s humanitarian demining efforts, engineering equipment, and other materiel,” stated the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.

Denys Shmyhal emphasized that he looks forward to further strengthening the partnership with Slovakia. The Minister of Defence of Ukraine agreed with his Slovak counterpart to hold an in-person meeting in the near future.
