The Wounded Warrior Package will include 30 essential items for use during hospitalization
The Wounded Warrior Package will be distributed to the Armed Forces this year. It will include adaptive clothing, hygiene products, and specialized utensils, totaling 30 items.
The set has been tailored to address the diverse scenarios that wounded service members may encounter. It will include hygiene products, which are especially crucial during the first days of staying in medical facilities, specialized utensils to aid in eating and drinking, and adaptive clothing.
“We are working on simplifying the provision of medical care to military personnel. The new clothing does not need to be taken off; access to the wound can be achieved simply by unfastening the special fasteners. This significantly accelerates medical procedures and helps save valuable time, which could be crucial in saving lives. “Taking care of our defenders is our duty and priority,” emphasized Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov.
The Wounded Warrior Package for female defenders is tailored differently from that for men, considering their specific needs.
The set will be provided to wounded service members from the moment they receive medical care at stabilization points or in a hospital.
“The Wounded Warrior Package is one of the important initiatives of the Ministry of Defence to support our service members during their treatment and recovery from injuries sustained in combat missions,” said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhii Melnyk.
It is important to note that the testing of adaptive clothing took place in October of last year in the Zaporizhzhia sector.
To launch the project, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine must adopt a relevant resolution regarding the project’s financing.
