The “Marichka” field kitchen will enhance the non-lethal logistical support for the military

Польову кухню «Марічка» виготовило українське підприємство на заміну радянським зразкам

The Ministry of Defence has codified and approved the “Marichka” field kitchen for use in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the MoD’s Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment.

The kitchen is designed to cook meals in field conditions for a unit of up to 250 personnel. The “Marichka” field kitchen was manufactured by a Ukrainian company to replace Soviet-era models. The manufacturer considered the military’s request to modernize and enhance the preparation of hot meals in the field. The advantages of the field kitchen of a NATO country's army were also taken into account.

The new field kitchen is mounted on a single-axle chassis of a truck trailer. The Ukrainian “Marichka” offers several advantages compared to the Soviet-era model. Specifically, with comparable dimensions, the domestic model can prepare twice the amount of first and second courses. Furthermore, the kitchen features two 55-liter ovens, essential utensils, and technical containers.

“Marichka” operates on diesel or solid fuel. The optimized heating system allows it to cook food faster and with reduced fuel consumption. The integrated modular umbrella cover enables personnel to skip the installation of an additional tent, saving time during deployment to the working mode.
