The government approved a new procedure to provide clothing, medical, and psychological support to military personnel based on gender-specific needs
The rights of military personnel to clothing, medical, psychological, and social support with consideration of gender needs have been provided with clear guarantees and implementation mechanisms. This procedure, developed by the Ministry of Defense, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
The procedure includes the provision of uniforms and gear based on the anthropometric data of military personnel, the supply of personal hygiene items, and improvements in annual medical examinations. When necessary, medical assistance will be provided in state or municipal institutions.
The document also establishes guidelines for providing psychological support to military personnel exposed to stress factors in combat situations or affected by sexual harassment. This support will be provided in a safe, confidential setting.
Additionally, the procedure addresses psychological support for family members of military personnel, especially for those whose loved ones are in captivity, missing, or surrounded. Specialists at territorial recruitment and social support centers will provide this assistance.
The new procedure also requires a gender-sensitive approach in the development of budget programs for the Security and Defense Forces.
