The U.S. has approved over $200 million in security assistance sales to Ukraine

The United States has approved security assistance sales packages for Ukraine under the Foreign Military Sales program, totaling more than $200 million.

The approval of the security assistance packages took place in fulfillment of the agreements between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and U.S. President Donald Trump.

“This is an extremely important contribution to saving lives and ensuring lasting peace in Europe. We thank the President of the United States, the U.S. Secretary of Defense, and the American people for their consistent support of Ukraine,” said Ukrainian Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal.

The Minister of Defense also emphasized that the funding for these security assistance packages for Ukraine will be provided entirely by partner countries.

The first package includes equipment, repairs, and technical support for M777 howitzers, valued at $104 million. It provides for repair services and long-term maintenance of this weapon system.

The second package, worth $99.5 million, covers transportation and cargo consolidation services, as well as other logistical services to support security assistance programs.

The goal of these sales is to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities, ensure its ability to counter current and future threats, and bolster regional security.
