The electronic service for exemption from military service is already available on the Diya portal — Kateryna Chernohorenko

Today, the Diya portal launched the service for exemption from military service. Managers of critical businesses and defense enterprises can now register exemption for their staff online through Diya. During the beta testing, 929 workers were registered.

"The electronic exemption service is already available on the Diya portal. Previously, this procedure was rather confusing. Conscript information was manually reviewed, hence there was a human factor involved. Data was lost or due to minor errors in the documents, people had to be resubmitted. The new service will make this online exemption process fast and transparent," Deputy Minister of Defense Kateryna Chernohorenko noted.

How it’s going to work:

  1. The director of the company submits lists of conscripted employees and approves the application with an electronic signature.
  2. The system checks whether the person is officially employed and whether there are data about him in the Oberih register.
  3. The Diya portal will send a notification to the manager about the result of the review within a day.

The system will automatically transfer the information about a person liable for military service to a special military account, after which he will be considered exempted. If the decision is positive, information about the employee's exemption appears in the Reserve+ application. The exemption status can be downloaded from the Diya portal and printed out if necessary.

"In this procedure, we have automated all operations that may be automated in order to expedite the exemption process and avoid wasting time collecting documents or visiting government offices. Digitization of the process excludes the human factor, because all data is checked automatically, and the manager understands in real time who was exempted and who was not, and what was the reason for the refusal," said Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education Development, of Science and Technology — Minister of Digital Transformation.
