The Defence Procurement Agency (DPA) of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has signed contracts totaling over UAH 200 billion based on the results of the first quarter of the year
As of Q1 2025, the Defence Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has concluded contracts totaling more than UAH 200 billion.
“Specifically, 279 contracts worth UAH 77.2 billion were concluded in the first quarter for UAVs, electronic warfare assets, and ground robotic systems. The procurement policy of the Ministry of Defence is currently aimed at ensuring the technological advantage of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the battlefield,” said Glib Kanievskyi, Director of the Procurement Policy Department of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
The early allocation of financial resources ensures stable supplies to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and provides predictability for local manufacturers. Unmanned aerial technologies play a key role in reconnaissance, fire adjustment, target identification, and delivering strikes against the enemy. In addition, substantial resources are being allocated to procure artillery shells and mortar rounds.
“We are gradually establishing a transparent system of cooperation with manufacturers. We are working to ensure that procurement processes are transparent to the market and deliver predictable outcomes for both manufacturers and the frontline,” said Arsen Zhumadilov, Director of the Defence Procurement Agency.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Defence allocates part of financial resources directly to combat brigades. This enables the operational testing of advanced weaponry and its adaptation to modern battlefield conditions. Particularly, in the first quarter of 2025, the Ministry of Defence allocated nearly UAH 12.3 billion to support combat brigades. These funds are designated for procuring UAVs, electronic warfare systems, vehicles for mobile units, and more.
