The Army+ app has launched a new training course focused on effectively countering PSYOP

The second part of the course on information resilience has been added to the Army+ app. It focuses on effectively countering psychological operations (PSYOPs). This follow-up is designed to aid military personnel in identifying and combating information and psychological threats in challenging situations, including combat environments.

The course consists of two modules, with four lessons in each. A test on knowledge acquisition is given at the end of each module, and a final exam with certification follows the completion of all modules. A distinctive feature of this course is that lecturers provide numerous illustrative examples and potential situations, along with suggested responses.

“Users will learn about the enemy’s information and psychological operations, the channels through which they spread, and ways to protect themselves and their comrades. Under martial law, strictly following these recommendations can be crucial in preserving life and health,” said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhii Melnyk.

The first part of the course, ‘Information Resilience: Cybersecurity,’ has become one of the most popular courses on Army+. Within two months, 14,000 users began studying it. This course also boasts the highest success rate, with 78% of participants completing it and earning a certificate.

“The enemy continuously conducts psychological operations against Ukrainians in the information space. As a result, this topic has been given a dedicated course in Army+. Overall, we continue to enhance the training platform and expand it with courses featuring up-to-date information that can be immediately applied in practice,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development.

The ‘Information Resilience: Countering enemy PSYOPs’ course was created in collaboration with experts in communications, cybersecurity, and media literacy from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Zinc Network, with the support of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.

In total, with the addition of the new course, Army+ now offers seven courses: ‘Overall Training,’ ‘Routine Under Field Conditions,’ ‘UAV Fundamentals: An Introduction to Unmanned Systems,’ ‘Fundamentals of Battlefield Communication,’ ‘Psychological Training,’ and ‘Information Resilience: Cybersecurity.’ 55,000 service members are currently undergoing training, with 21,000 having successfully completed at least one course.
