The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has prevented the loss of a Defense Forces’ land plot valued at over UAH 32 million. There was no property deed for the land plot, and unauthorized structures had been built on it.

The Ministry of Defence's Internal Audit Service uncovered this violation while reviewing the operations of apartment maintenance divisions and a specific military unit.

In total, violations, flaws, and risks in resource management amounting to over UAH 80 million were identified. 

“Timely detection and analysis of potential risks will facilitate the preparation of essential documentation and ensure that defense land is utilized to fulfill the urgent demands of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Conducting an internal audit requires a systematic and coordinated approach, with the primary objective being the prevention of illegal, inefficient, and ineffective use of budget funds and other assets,” said Colonel Oleksandr Tytkovskyi, Director of the Internal Audit Department of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

Furthermore, the inspection resulted in the reimbursement and rectification of irregularities and shortcomings totaling over UAH 30 million.
