Denys Shmyhal: Ukraine and Lithuania to jointly manufacture defence products

Україна та Литва спільно виготовлятимуть оборонну продукцію – Денис Шмигаль

Ukraine and Lithuania will collaborate on the manufacture of defence products. In Kyiv, Ukraine’s Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal and Lithuania’s Minister of National Defence Dovilė Šakalienė signed a Letter of Intent on the joint manufacture of defence products in Lithuania and Ukraine.

“Our joint focus is on initiating collaborative production initiatives, particularly in the development of long-range unmanned aerial systems. We discussed the specific prospects for industrial cooperation arising from the Letter of Intent. This document creates new opportunities for launching joint ventures, strengthening the presence of Ukrainian companies in Lithuania, and promoting technology exchange,” said Denys Shmyhal.

He thanked his Lithuanian counterpart for the visit and fruitful cooperation. Crucially, Lithuania will maintain its allocation of 0.25% of GDP to military assistance for Ukraine until 2027. This is a strong signal of long-term support for our warriors, said Ukraine’s Defence Minister.

During the meeting, the defence ministers concentrated on securing additional funding for the procurement of weapons and the development of Ukraine’s defence industry.

“I thank Lithuania for its consistent and unwavering support for Ukraine on the path to victory,” concluded Denys Shmyhal.
