Sweden delivers airfield maintenance equipment to Ukraine

Sweden has delivered specialised equipment to support the operation of military airfields in Ukraine.
High-quality runway maintenance directly affects how safely and successfully pilots can carry out combat missions.
The new equipment allows for:
- fast and efficient runway maintenance;
- keeping airfields ready for operations 24/7 in all weather conditions;
- ensuring pilot safety during take-offs and landings;
- maintaining uninterrupted combat aviation operations.
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine expresses gratitude to the Government of Sweden, the Swedish Ministry of Defence, and industrial partners for their consistent support.
To recap, Ukraine and Sweden are preparing to sign contracts for the delivery of Gripen fighter jets. This was discussed during a meeting between Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Mykhailo Fedorov, and Sweden’s Minister of Defence, Pål Jonson.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reported that Sweden is preparing one of its largest assistance packages for Ukraine, comprising air defence assets and Saab-produced radars, along with contributions to Ukraine’s defence industry – additional electronic warfare (EW) systems and drones, including deep-strike capabilities.
