The parties discussed the importance of developing combat and humanitarian demining and signed an agreement on cooperation within the Ukraine Demining Capability Coalition. The document sets the stage for the full functionality of the Coalition, encompassing the attraction of financial resources and centralized acquisitions.

“We are grateful to the people and leadership of Lithuania for their continued support of Ukraine in our fight against russian aggression. In particular, I would like to thank Lithuania and Iceland for their effective leadership in the Demining Coalition, which united many countries to support our Armed Forces,” said Rustem Umerov.

The Ukrainian and Lithuanian ministers attended a demonstration at the testing ground that showcased the integration of unmanned ground-based and aerial robotic systems into a unified real-time control center for all unmanned vehicles on the battlefield.

“The Ministry of Defence is consistently putting innovations into practice and developing the army of the future. Unmanned systems are our priority. They are already changing the situation on the battlefield,” Rustem Umerov noted.

He stressed the importance of using technological advancements to reduce the need for personnel on the battlefield, thus protecting the lives and health of our warriors and allowing them to effectively counter the enemy, who are superior in terms of numbers and weaponry.
