Strengthening the Defence Forces: Ukraine and Norway deepen their cooperation
The First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, held talks with a delegation from the Kingdom of Norway.
In the course of the meeting, he discussed the situation at the front lines and russia's daily attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure using strike drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles. Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk outlined the critical needs of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.
He also reported on the increasing support for the Russian Federation from North Korea. It is not only about new supplies of ammunition and missiles; it is also about the growing presence of North Korean troops near Ukraine's borders.
«The enemy continually adapts its tactics to terrorise Ukraine. A challenging winter lies ahead, which the aggressor intends to exploit to plunge our country into darkness and cold. We must promptly enhance our air defence capabilities and replenish missile stocks for the existing systems. The Kremlin's inclination towards escalation requires a unified and resolute response from our partners,» stated Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk.
Colonel Kjell Hauan, a General Staff of the Norwegian Armed Forces representative, emphasised that supporting Ukraine remains one of Norway's key priorities. The members of the Norwegian delegation assured further active support within the framework of the Capability Coalitions. The parties reached a consensus on measures to enhance collaboration in the manufacturing of particular categories of weapons.
The First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine also emphasised the need to direct efforts toward equipping the units currently being formed with armoured vehicles.
