Since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Defence has codified 1,000 weapons and military equipment models

The Ministry of Defence continues to strengthen the Defence Forces of Ukraine with modern weapons and military equipment. Since the beginning of 2026, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has codified and authorized for operational use 1,000 weapons and military equipment models.
During the same period last year, the Ministry of Defence codified and authorized for operational use 659 weapons and military equipment models, representing an increase of more than 50% in the number of codified models.
One of the priorities of Ukraine’s defense strategy is to achieve a technological advantage over the enemy. As a result, the list is dominated by advanced systems designed to meet the demands of modern high-intensity warfare.
Weapons and military equipment codified by the Ministry of Defence since the beginning of 2026
Among the systems and equipment codified by the Ministry are:
- more than 300 new unmanned aerial systems;
- 188 variants of ammunition;
- 128 models of communication systems;
- more than 60 models of electronic warfare (EW) and signals/electronic intelligence (SIGINT/ELINT) equipment;
- 50 new unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs);
- nearly 50 armored and special-purpose armored vehicles.
All of these models proved their capabilities under rigorous testing conditions. Most of the codified models are already in service with the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
More Ukrainian-made weapons and military equipment
Of the 1,000 codified weapons and military equipment models, 892 were produced in Ukraine. This accounts for nearly 90% of all codified models, demonstrating the growing capabilities of Ukraine’s defense industry. The share of Ukrainian-made weapons and military equipment models among all codified models stood at 69.6% last year and 74.6% the year before.
Ukrainian manufacturers are developing advanced, high-tech weapons and military equipment designed to meet the requirements of modern warfare.
Codification extends beyond lethal weaponry
In addition to lethal weaponry, since the beginning of 2026, the Ministry of Defence has codified:
- 68 vehicles of various types and roles;
- 34 models of rear support equipment;
- 16 models of engineering equipment;
- 9 weapons and military equipment maintenance systems.
The Defence Forces’ arsenal has also been expanded with new small arms, surface platforms, optical systems, CBRN equipment, mock-ups, software, and more.
Strengthening Ukraine’s defense industry
It is important to note that in May 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allocated an additional UAH 10.84 billion to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities.
Of this amount, UAH 9.05 billion will be allocated to the procurement of new weapons and the modernization and repair of military vehicles and equipment.
The remaining UAH 1.79 billion will be invested in Ukraine’s defense industry, including the implementation of advanced technologies, the expansion of manufacturing capacity, and sector reform.
