Service members with combatant status and other eligible categories can now apply for additional leave through the Army+ app
A new report type has been introduced in the Army+ app for service members in eligible categories to request additional leave. Such leave may be granted at the unit commander's discretion after the main leave has been used.
The following categories of service members may submit a report:
- Combatants and persons equated to them;
- Individuals with disabilities resulting from war;
- War participants, including those who served in the Armed Forces of the former USSR during wartime, took part in combat operations as part of an international contingent, or participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) during its conduct;
- Family members of fallen (deceased) war veterans and defenders of Ukraine;
- Service members with exceptional merits to the Homeland.
To submit a report, a document confirming the entitled status must be attached. The length of the leave varies by category and may be up to 14 or 21 days.
The report in the app includes step-by-step prompts and a module for uploading the required documents, helping service members easily navigate the requirements. This enables service members to fill out and submit a report to their commander quickly and without errors.
This year, the Verkhovna Rada adopted draft law No. 13235, which restores the right of combatants to 14 days of additional leave with the commander’s approval. This type of leave had not been granted since 2022 due to martial law.
There are now 50 electronic report templates available in the Army+ app. In total, service members have submitted over 1 million electronic reports. The most popular ones are: annual leave (27%), health improvement (22%), change of duty station within the Armed Forces of Ukraine (17%), obtaining a military service record (Form F5) (10%), and return from leave, temporary duty assignment, or medical treatment (3%).
