Sergiy Boyev: To safeguard democracy, partners should increase weapons production

The pace of weapons production and the advancement of cutting-edge defense technologies are crucial elements in the current warfare.

This was emphasized by Sergiy Boyev, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for European Integration, during his speech at the 16th International Security Forum in Halifax, Canada.

Sergiy Boyev stressed the critical importance of boosting investments in the defense sector.

«⁠Without a robust defense industry, democracies will struggle to withstand the enemy that is ramping up its economic mobilization. In the current circumstances, democracies should enhance and expedite the production of their high-quality weapons,” said the Deputy Minister

He added that, despite ongoing hostilities and constant Russian shelling, Ukrainian defense companies are producing high-quality weapons and military equipment and are prepared to scale up production with additional funding.

“To defeat the aggressor, we must collectively build up our capabilities,” said Sergiy Boyev.
