The delegations reviewed recent events, such as the Ramstein format meeting and the Munich Security Conference. They agreed on the appropriateness of calls for European unity and the expansion of defense budgets, notably to reinforce security assistance to Ukraine. Sergiy Boyev highlighted the effectiveness of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.

The Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine briefed David Petraeus on the needs for air and missile defense systems, interceptor missiles, heavy armored vehicles, and ammunition, including for MLRS.

“The Ukrainian defense industry has increased more than 20-fold since the onset of the large-scale invasion, and we are able to manufacture much of the required equipment independently. However, to meet the critical needs of the Defence Forces, we continue to rely on the support of our partners, including the United States.”

The participants also discussed cooperation with NATO, the milestone launch of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training, and Education Centre (JATEC), and the development of NATO’s Mission on Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU).

The Ukrainian delegation emphasized the importance of further developing cooperation with representatives of the U.S. defense industry in areas such as joint ventures, innovation, and the exchange of technologies and licenses.

Both the Ukrainian and American sides agreed on the critical importance of enhancing Ukraine's defense capabilities, the need for European countries to unite against a common threat, and the continued close cooperation with the United States.
