Support for defence industry manufacturers: 50 companies received concessional loans worth UAH 2.7 billion
In the nine months since the launch of the state concessional lending program to defence industry manufacturers, 50 companies have already received loans totaling UAH 2.7 billion.
Currently, another 23 applications from defence enterprises totaling more than UAH 2.5 billion have been approved for disbursement. An additional 57 applications are at various stages of review.
“Most of the concessional loan applications come from UAV manufacturers and producers of their components. These are the assets that today are massively contributing to our defence, saving the lives of our soldiers, and striking the enemy’s logistics. Thanks to these loans, our defence manufacturers can produce more weapons and deliver them to the front faster,” said Anna Gvozdiar, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
The concessional lending program for Ukrainian defence industry manufacturers was initiated at the end of 2024 by the Ministry of Strategic Industries together with the Ministry of Defence as a tool to support enterprises that are critical to the economy and national defence capability.
Private sector manufacturers lacking working capital to improve and scale production capacity can receive:
- up to UAH 100 million for working capital: with a term of up to 3 years;
- up to UAH 500 million for investment projects: with a term of up to 5 years.
The interest rate for defence industry enterprises is 5%, with the remainder compensated by the state.
Loan funds may be used to expand operations, purchase new equipment and components, maintain working capital for developing new types of weapons and military equipment, and launch them into serial production.
To obtain a concessional loan, a manufacturer must apply to a participating bank. At present, five banks meeting certain security criteria are taking part in the program: Ukreximbank, Oschadbank, MTB Bank, PUMB, and Credit Dnipro Bank.
