Sergiy Boyev discusses peace in Ukraine with a bipartisan delegation of U.S. congressional representatives

Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Sergiy Boyev met with a bipartisan delegation from the Offices of the U.S. Congress to brief them on the current situation in Ukraine and the pathways to achieving peace.
The Ukrainian side briefed the American delegation on the prevailing security situation and critical threats—russia persists in targeting civilian populations, strengthening its defense industry, and disregarding all ceasefire agreements.
“Ukraine is committed to achieving a just and lasting peace, but russia continues to kill Ukrainian citizens. Ukraine needs more defense assets, with air defense systems being the top priority. American assistance in this regard is critically important,” emphasized Deputy Minister of Defence Sergiy Boyev.
He briefed representatives from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), who accompanied the congressional delegation, on the list of U.S. defense products urgently needed by Ukraine. Additionally, he outlined mechanisms for cooperation between Ukrainian and U.S. defense companies, including the establishment of joint ventures in partner countries.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that U.S. military assistance is crucial for Ukraine, primarily to safeguard civilian lives, protect populated areas and critical infrastructure, and stabilize the situation on the battlefield.
“Only strength on the battlefield can secure a strong stance at the negotiating table. Achieving a just peace is our primary objective today,” concluded Sergiy Boyev.
