Rustem Umerov: Ukrainian-made drones constituted 96.2% of all UAVs supplied to the Defence Forces in 2024
In 2024, Ukraine achieved substantial advancements in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) production.
As a result of considerable manufacturing capacity enhancement, Ukrainian drones represented 96.2% of all unmanned aerial systems supplied to the Defence Forces.
“Ukrainian drones accounted for 96.2% of all UAVs supplied to the Defense Forces this year. Thanks to domestic production orders from the Ministry of Defence, we are meeting the key needs of our warriors while reducing dependence on partner supplies,” emphasized Defence Minister Rustem Umerov.
In 2024, Ukrainian companies produced and assembled the following types of drones:
• Over 1.5 million FPV drones (together with the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection);
• Strike copter bombers;
• Fixed-wing kamikaze drones;
• Reconnaissance flying-wing drones;
• Long-range deep-strike drones.
These figures highlight the effective collaboration between the state and Ukrainian UAV manufacturers, as well as significant progress in enhancing Ukraine's defense capabilities.
“Cooperation with domestic enterprises will remain our priority in 2025. We support Ukraine’s economy and provide our warriors with the best weaponry for victory,” Rustem Umerov emphasized.
