Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov, and Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Anatoliy Barhylevych, held a meeting with Ukrainian military personnel to discuss the army's needs and further steps toward modernization.

Rustem Umerov emphasized the importance of direct communication with service members and receiving their feedback. One of the main topics of the meeting was equipping the armed forces.

“We are working on a new uniform design alongside the military — incorporating their suggestions to make gear more comfortable and functional. Additionally, based on our defenders' initiatives, we’re considering new military kitchen standards, as well as modifications and repairs for equipment and weapons. We are ready to test new solutions and scale them across the entire army,” noted the Minister of Defense.

The discussion also covered enhancing training effectiveness to better prepare troops for the realities of modern warfare.

Another topic was the adoption of innovations and allied approaches that enable service members to operate smoothly and quickly. In particular, they explored expanding the use of the "Kropyva" and DELTA software systems.

The conversation included reforming and improving the Air Force and Drone Forces, focusing on updating doctrines and revising the regulatory framework.

Rustem Umerov stressed the importance of holding regular meetings with the military. The parties agreed to work on establishing a new coordination body focused on gathering challenges, forming recommendations, and overseeing their implementation.

“We are one team. We work toward a common victory, bringing Ukraine closer to a strong and professional military for the future, step by step,” stated the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
