Partner support: Danish Hydrema MCV 910 has already demined over 560 hectares in the Kharkiv region

With the help of the Danish-made Hydrema MCV 910 mechanized mine-clearing vehicle, the Defence Forces of Ukraine have already cleared over 560 hectares of land from explosive hazards in the Kharkiv region.

Since 2024, these vehicles have been used for demining de-occupied territories as part of the demining units of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. They are currently accelerating the clearance of fields from mines and explosive remnants of war.

To date, over 25,000 hectares of the region have been demined, while approximately one million hectares still require inspection for explosive hazards.

119 demining teams of the Security and Defence Forces and 132 groups of mine action operators are currently involved in clearance efforts across the Kharkiv region. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the region, they have neutralised more than 270,000 explosive devices.

It should be noted that the 18-tonne Hydrema MCV 910 mechanized mine-clearing vehicle, manufactured in Denmark, is designed to neutralise both anti-personnel and anti-tank mines containing up to 10 kilograms of explosive material.

The vehicle can clear a strip up to 3.5 metres wide, including highways and dirt roads. Mine neutralisation is performed by rotating chains that strike the ground, causing the destruction or detonation of mines buried at depths of up to 30 cm.

The plate that deflects fragments is made of armoured steel. It is located at the rear of the flail system, ensuring maximum protection against shrapnel and preventing it from entering the operator’s cabin.

The cabin of the demining vehicle reliably protects the crew not only from explosions but also from small arms fire.
