Our tactical air force has updated flying protocols in line with NATO standards — Ivan Havryliuk

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has developed new flight procedures for tactical aviation based on NATO standards. The corresponding Order No. 147 approving the Acceptable Methods of Conformity (AMC) and Guidance Material (GM) to the Methodological Recommendations “Flight Operation Procedures for Tactical Aviation Aircraft” has been published on the Ministry’s website.

The document contains instructions, explanations, and interpretations that were developed by the General Directorate of State Aviation of Ukraine. Those will help safely operate domestic and Western tactical aircraft.

The new standards are already being implemented by an ad hoc working group established in the Ukrainian Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The General Directorate of State Aviation of Ukraine has plans to develop four more sets of procedures for other aviation types, such as unmanned aerial vehicles.

“Our tactical air force has new flying protocols in line with NATO standards. This will enhance the capabilities of the Armed Forces. We are moving forward and doing everything we can to ensure that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have an advantage in the theater of war,” said the First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk.

The General Directorate of State Aviation of Ukraine, a competent authority of the Ministry of Defence, is responsible for implementing state policy in aviation and defending Ukraine's sovereignty in both peace and wartime.
