Mykhailo Fedorov and the Minister of National Defence of Lithuania discuss security cooperation plans for 2026

In Kyiv, Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Mykhailo Fedorov, and Lithuania’s Minister of National Defence, Robertas Kaunas, discussed prospects for developing cooperation between the defence enterprises of both countries.
Mykhailo Fedorov stressed the importance of aligning joint projects with the Defence Forces' current needs, particularly in extended-range artillery.

The parties discussed expanding defence cooperation and identifying priority areas of support for Ukraine. In particular, Lithuania confirmed its readiness to support the establishment of a joint venture for drone production.

Mykhailo Fedorov expressed gratitude to Lithuania for providing annual support amounting to 0.25% of its GDP, as well as for its contributions to the PURL mechanism. The parties also discussed the possibility of directing SAFE credit funding to support Ukraine as early as this year.
In addition, the parties discussed enhancing Lithuania’s defence capabilities to counter Shahed drones. Ukraine stands ready to share practical experience and support the rapid deployment of new capabilities that can reinforce partner countries.
