MoD Defence Procurement Agency increases procurement of Ukrainian-made weapons by UAH 158 billion

From January to July 2025, the Defence Procurement Agency (DPA) of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine concluded contracts with Ukrainian manufacturers, with budget commitments totaling UAH 158 billion more than during the same period last year.

As a result, the share of domestically produced weapons and equipment in the total procurement volume of the DPA increased to 71.4%. For comparison, from January to July 2024, this figure stood at 44.1%.

“A systemic approach delivers results. When there are clear regulations and a coherent framework for interaction, manufacturers can scale their production. The increase in contracts with Ukrainian enterprises reflects the restructuring of the procurement architecture,” noted Arsen Zhumadilov, Director of the Defence Procurement Agency.

The strongest growth is observed in the unmanned systems sector. Over 95% of the funds allocated for drone procurement are directed to Ukrainian manufacturers.

As a reminder, in April 2025, the Defence Procurement Agency launched a supplier verification process to streamline and speed up engagement with the market while ensuring equal access to the procurement process. More details about the procedure are available on the Agency’s official website, under the Suppliers section.
