The Ministry of Defence has transferred 6.5 hectares of land for the use of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has registered 6.5 hectares of land in the State Register of Real Property Rights, officially transferring them for use by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This pertains to 10 distinct land plots located in Zhytomyr Oblast, Lviv Oblast, and the city of Lviv.
Specifically, registered were seven land plots with a total area of approximately 5.5 hectares in Zhytomyr Oblast, two plots covering 0.85 hectares in Lviv Oblast, and one plot of 0.2 hectares in the city of Lviv.
The registration of these lands in the State Register enables their transfer to the operational administration of military units. It allows for their use in constructing housing for military personnel using non-budgetary funds. Furthermore, registration prevents unauthorized third parties from using these land plots.
“A total of 281,000 hectares of defense-designated lands have been registered in the State Register of Real Property Rights. The Ministry of Defence continues to actively work on land registration, which will foster the development of military infrastructure and improve conditions for Ukraine’s defenders,” stated Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhii Melnyk.
To reiterate, in 2024, 8,500 hectares of land were registered in the State Land Cadastre under the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. Most of these lands had been under the Ministry of Defence’s use since Ukraine gained independence but were not properly registered. These land plots have now acquired the necessary legal status to support the further development of military infrastructure and meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
