Luxembourg joins the Drone Coalition

Luxembourg has become the 17th partner country to join the Drone Coalition.

“The objective is to guarantee the industrial production of FPV drones in Ukraine and the Western countries to gain an asymmetric technological edge over the enemy in the long run. The further objective is to expand their production capacity. We are delighted to welcome Luxembourg to the coalition, appreciating their ongoing support for our Armed Forces and their future contributions to the drone industry,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development.

To reiterate, the Drone Coalition was established in February 2024 during the 19th Ramstein meeting. The initiative has been proposed by Latvia and is being coordinated with the United Kingdom.

Partner nations have already supplied Ukraine with thousands of drones. The Coalition has accumulated €50 million for joint procurement, which will be allocated to procure and deliver another 20,000-30,000 drones.

In September, Ukrainian drone manufacturers had the opportunity to participate in international tenders within the Coalition for the first time. To participate, manufacturers must register on the UK Ministry of Defence's website and submit their applications. The deadline for submitting bids for advanced FPV drones is October 14, while for interceptor drones, it is November 11. The Coalition member countries will then examine the bids.

The winning companies will be awarded contracts to manufacture drones that will undergo further testing and assessment. Should their products show good results at that stage, there are intentions to place larger orders for FPV drones from the winning manufacturers.
