Kateryna Chernohorenko: The battlefield video analysis platform known as Vezha is now accessible within the DELTA combat system
Vezha, a platform designed for battlefield video analytics that streams drone footage in real-time and ensures the effective defeat of the enemy, is now part of the DELTA combat system. This will increase the efficiency and accuracy of operations through better interaction and data exchange between drone crews, artillery, and command posts.
Vezha provides the Ukrainian military a technological advantage and eliminates dependence on other services. Instead, the enemy still uses third-party video platforms, often blocked by their developers or the russian authorities.
“With the help of Vezha, the military can analyze footage from hundreds of UAVs, identifying and categorizing over 4,000 intelligence targets every day. Voice communication, joint video decryption, and monitoring of the effectiveness of drone units allow our fighters to act quickly and inflict significant losses on the enemy,” Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development, commented on the integration.
The addition of the Vezha module has enriched the DELTA ecosystem. The combat system's authentication ensures that data is exchanged securely and safeguards against unauthorized access to transmissions.
The new version of the Vezha mobile app is integrated with Mission Control, the planning module for UAV use, effectively preventing frequency interference with FPV drones. This application is exclusively provided through MDM (Mobile Device Management), the military equivalent of the App Store or Play Market.
The integration of Vezha into DELTA was made possible through the teamwork of multiple groups. At first, the 411th Separate Battalion "Yastruby," which is a component of the Territorial Defence Forces, established a platform tailored to its specific requirements. Afterward, the Innovation Center of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine became involved in developing a consolidated video analysis platform based on DELTA, with the Tube and Raven streaming teams contributing their expertise and proven methods.
The Technology Solutions Scaling Center developed a core for streaming, tailoring it to meet the demands of field environments. This significantly accelerated the development and implementation of Vezha within DELTA.
Currently, the collaborative group is broadening streaming capabilities to support thousands of concurrent live broadcasts from various types of drones and cameras. Improvements are also being made to the AI of the Avengers platform to automatically detect enemies in video footage under harsh conditions, such as when they are camouflaged or hidden in dense woods.
