Kateryna Chernohorenko: During the first six months of the Army+ app’s operation, 660,000 military personnel have used the application
Over the past six months since the launch of Army+, 660,000 service members from more than 1,500 military units have used the app. Currently, defenders can utilize features such as Reports, Surveys, Training, and the ‘Pluses’ National Support Program.
“In August, we embarked on an ambitious journey to create an ecosystem focused on service members—a unified space for addressing all matters with commanders and the state. So that service members can focus on their duties while Army+ takes care of paperwork and everyday matters. I believe we have made significant progress toward this goal over the past six months. “But there is still much work ahead,” stated Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development.
The following features have been added to the Army+ app over this period:
- Electronic reports that can be submitted in a matter of minutes. In total, there are 17 types of reports. During this period, users have submitted 150,000 reports, which are legally equivalent to paper reports.
- Surveys. So far, 9 surveys have been conducted, receiving over 130,000 responses, which are already making changes in the military. For instance, when appointing the new Head of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy, feedback from the military was considered.
- Training designed to help service members gain new skills or perfect existing ones. Within six months, we introduced 6 courses, which were undertaken by 43,000 service members.
- Change of Duty Station. For the first time in the history of the Ukrainian army, the change of duty station has been digitized, reducing the processing time from several months to just a few days. A total of 24,000 service members submitted reports, of which 15,000 have been fully approved.
- Return to Duty After an Absence Without Leave (AWOL). Until March 1, service members who have been absent without leave (AWOL) for the first time can return to service by simply submitting a report. Approximately 60% of those wishing to continue their service have submitted reports via Army+ and are either returning or have already fully resumed their service in new military units.
- ‘Pluses’ National Support Program. Major businesses have united to show appreciation for Ukraine's defenders with exclusive offers and discounts. The Program was launched in December. Since then, Ukrainian railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia, PJSC Ukrnafta, and logistics company Nova Poshta have joined the Program. The partner offers have been utilized 100,000 times. As a result, military personnel managed to save over 6 million UAH.
This year, the range of features will expand: the report on the destroyed or damaged enemy targets will be scaled up, a report for receiving remuneration for destroyed enemy equipment will be introduced, and a psychological support service and a change of duty station between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine will be launched.
