JURA-EVAC has joined the fleet of evacuation armored vehicles

The Ministry of Defence has codified and adopted the JURA-EVAC armored evacuation vehicle for deployment within the Defence Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the MoD’s Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment.

The JURA-EVAC is manufactured by a Ukrainian company with extensive experience in producing armored vehicles. This evacuation vehicle is equipped with a powerful diesel engine, a 4x4 wheel configuration, and a reliable manual transmission. The manufacturer has upgraded the vehicle's chassis to enhance its performance in off-road conditions and challenging terrain, installing reinforced front and rear suspensions, off-road tires, enhanced brakes, and other improvements.

Designed with a modular layout, the JURA-EVAC can accommodate six personnel, including the driver and an accompanying combat medic. The vehicle’s armored hull provides ballistic protection against small arms fire, shrapnel, blasts from engineering munitions, and other battlefield threats. “The JURA-EVAC is equipped with essential systems for casualty evacuation, including video surveillance, light signature suppression features, counter-UAV measures, ventilation, air conditioning, an automatic stretcher-loading system, and other critical capabilities.

“In the war against russian aggression, where the enemy disregards all conventions and employs various means to target medics and their transport, evacuating a wounded warrior is often a complex and dangerous task. The role of evacuation transport is of critical importance—its mobility, road performance, ballistic protection, and countermeasures against enemy UAV attacks are often decisive factors in the success of evacuation missions under challenging conditions,” noted Deputy Minister of Defence Valerii Churkin.

According to him, the Defence Forces presently utilize a wide range of automotive equipment for evacuating wounded warriors from the battlefield, including both domestically produced and foreign models: wheeled and tracked armored vehicles, all-terrain vehicles, lightweight maneuverable buggies, ATVs, and robotic platforms. Depending on resources and the combat situation, the most appropriate mode of transport is used to evacuate the wounded. Adding more armored evacuation vehicles to the fleet means more opportunities to save our warriors.
