During the first quarter of 2025, the Ministry of Defence codified and approved over 350 new weapons and military equipment models for use in the Defence Forces. 87% of these are produced domestically.

Ukrainian weapons manufacturers are advancing in the production of new models of weapons and military equipment. For comparison, more than 100 models of weapons and military equipment were codified during the same period last year. Close to half of them were produced in Ukraine.

The codified weapons and military equipment in the first quarter of 2025 were predominantly unmanned aerial systems, their ammunition, electronic warfare equipment, automotive vehicles, engineering tools, and ground robotic systems.

The list of drones codified and approved for use in the Defence Forces since the start of the year includes nearly 20 models with fiber-optic control.

“The analysis of the russian-Ukrainian war demonstrates that innovative tools are playing an increasingly significant role on the battlefield. Therefore, it is crucial to speed up the technological modernization of our military. Effective collaboration between Ukrainian weapon manufacturers and the military, along with the timely provision of modern weaponry to our warriors, will enhance the capabilities of our army,” noted Deputy Defence Minister of Ukraine Valerii Churkin.
