In 2025, Ministry of Defence authorized over 1,300 new weapons and military equipment models for operational use

In 2025, the Ministry of Defence authorized over 1,300 new models of domestically produced weapons and military equipment for operational use, a 25% increase compared to the previous year.

This reflects the active development of Ukraine’s domestic defense industry. Ukrainian defense manufacturers are not only scaling up production of weapons and military equipment across a wide range of items but also actively introducing technological innovations.

“The development of the national defense industry is a strategic priority. Domestic solutions and modern technologies are among the key foundations of the resilience of the Ukrainian military,” emphasized Ukraine’s Minister of Defence Denys Shmyhal.

Of the new weapons and military equipment authorized for operational use in 2025, unmanned aerial systems were the most numerous category, with over 550 models. The list also includes more than 270 models of various types of ammunition, over 50 models of automotive equipment, 11 models of armored vehicles (including specialized armored vehicles), and 13 models of small arms, among other items.
