Four years into the full-scale war against Ukraine, russia has failed to carry out its initial plans to seize our country in “three days.”

Over this period, russia’s total losses have exceeded 1.2 million service members killed and wounded.

In 2025 alone, the russian army lost 418,000 personnel.

The enemy remains unable to fully occupy Donbas. The average cost to russia for each kilometer of occupied Ukrainian territory is 156 soldiers. At the current rate of advance, the russian army would need several years to fully occupy Donetsk Oblast.

Losses of the russian army continue to rise each month. In December 2025, 35,000 russian service members were killed or seriously wounded. In January 2026 alone, unmanned systems units across all components of the Defence Forces eliminated nearly 29,700 enemy personnel.

Alongside personnel losses, russia continues to incur significant losses in military equipment.

Since February 24, 2025, the enemy has lost 65 aircraft and 17 helicopters, as well as 1,519 tanks and 2,925 armored fighting vehicles. Artillery losses totaled 13,884 units, along with 223 air defense systems. The enemy has also lost 117,233 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types and 1,283 cruise missiles. Losses also included one warship and one submarine.

Unable to achieve victory on the battlefield, russia continues to wage a cynical war against civilians and critical infrastructure.

The Office of the Prosecutor General reports that, since the start of the full-scale invasion, more than 216,000 crimes of aggression and war crimes have been recorded.

Ukraine remains steadfast in its fight for independence and for Europe’s security. Four years of the full-scale war demonstrate that, despite heavy losses and sustained pressure, russia has not achieved its strategic objectives.
