Fire on ground and aerial targets: Ministry of Defence codifies new Ukrainian weapon station

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has codified and authorized the domestically produced remote-controlled weapon station, ‘Khyzhak’, for operational use within the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the MoD’s Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment.
The ‘Khyzhak’ weapon station can be used both in stationary positions and on mobile platforms. The 7.62 mm machine guns installed on it can be equipped with Soviet-type and NATO-standard ammunition. The remotely controlled station can engage targets at small arms engagement ranges. It can track and engage targets in different planes: at targets on the ground or in the air. Platform stabilisation enables accurate fire even while in motion.
A reminder to defence equipment manufacturers: helpful information on the procedure for codifying new models of weapons and military equipment is available here.
