European Commission approves Ukraine’s request to procure Patriot missiles with EU loan funds
The European Commission has approved Ukraine’s request to procure missiles for Patriot air defence systems under the Ukraine Support Loan.
This represents approximately €3.2 billion in funding to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence.

The Ukraine Support Loan is a €90 billion European Union support mechanism for Ukraine covering 2026–2027. Of this amount, €60 billion is earmarked for defence needs.
In 2026, Ukraine expects to receive a total of €28.3 billion in defence support under the Ukraine Support Loan.
