EU4UA Defence Tech launches new grant round for UAV component prototypes

The Brave1 defense innovation cluster and the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO) are launching the third phase of the EU4UA Defence Tech grant program.
The initiative focuses on research and prototype development for unmanned systems components in Ukraine. The project is implemented with financial support from the European Union.
Under the program, developers can use grant funding to conduct research and develop prototypes of unmanned systems components in the following areas:
- propellers;
- high-density battery packs;
- power electronics;
- airframes.
Up to 20 teams may receive development grants of up to €33,000 each. Funding will be provided for projects with Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) of 3–4, to increase their TRL by at least one level.
Participation requirements and the application form are available at portal.usf.com.ua under the Brave1 – Brave1 EU4UA Defence Tech Grant Program section.
Applications will be accepted through August 21.
Ukraine and its European partners are working together to develop the component base for unmanned systems. Building localized production capacity for these components will reduce logistics and product refinement time while accelerating the deployment of new technological solutions to strengthen Ukraine's defense.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defence authorized the licensing of eight technologies developed by military personnel within the Ministry of Defence.
These include the Octopus interceptor drone, a guided munition, the Vitriak drone detector, as well as communication, control, and terminal guidance systems for unmanned systems and UGVs.
