Estonia prepares a new assistance package for Ukraine, encompassing drones and counter-drone capabilities

A new security assistance package being prepared by Estonia for Ukraine will include drones and counter-drone capabilities.
The two countries are also working on an agreement to jointly produce weapons in Estonia for Ukrainian warriors.
During the conversation, Minister of Defence of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov informed Estonia’s Minister of Defence, Hanno Pevkur, of the consequences of another large-scale attack on Ukraine, involving approximately 70 missiles and hundreds of drones.
Mykhailo Fedorov emphasised that the key priority remains the development of a distributed air defence architecture and the improvement of the effectiveness of intercepting strike drones. These are the areas on which Ukraine and its allies are focusing their joint efforts.
The Minister of Defence of Ukraine expressed gratitude to Estonia for its commitment to provide security assistance to Ukraine at no less than 0.25% of GDP each year and for its essential contributions to the PURL initiative.

Mykhailo Fedorov also underscored the key role played by Estonian partners in the IT Coalition. Owing to Estonia’s technological leadership and the Coalition’s efforts, Ukraine is expanding digital solutions, including online services for service members.
Ukraine is ready to openly demonstrate the operation of such products as DELTA and the air situational awareness system. Ukrainian defence innovations will be available to Estonia for testing without bureaucratic barriers.
