Enhanced field rations for the military: the acquisition agency of the MoD, DOT, signs the first supply contracts

The State Operator For Non-Lethal Acquisition (DOT), the acquisition agency of the MoD, has begun procuring enhanced daily field ration sets №15 for military personnel for the first time.

The Ministry of Defence continues its efforts to improve the quality of nutrition for military personnel, recognizing that it not only affects the success of combat missions but also directly impacts the health and morale of our service members. Improving field rations is an essential step in this strategy,” stated Deputy Defence Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov.

This enhanced food set provides three full meals daily for service members when cooking is not an option.

The first contracts for the supply of enhanced field rations have been signed with three suppliers. At the same time, contracts with two other suppliers—who had previously won tenders for specific items—were not finalized, as their documents were found to be non-compliant with the tender requirements. Therefore, the DOT will soon reannounce the tenders for these lots.

To reiterate, in late September and early October, the Army+ app surveyed military personnel regarding the content and quality of field rations. Most respondents rated the quality of the rations highly and suggested diversifying the contents, including the addition of inclusive field rations.
