The Army+ app is set to serve as a comprehensive digital aide for military personnel. The very next update will offer functionalities related to training. In further versions, the application will feature an electronic military ID, access to social services, and incentive programs from businesses. Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development, outlined these initiatives during a meeting with a US delegation led by William Taylor, Vice President of the United States Institute of Peace.

“In civilian life, we are accustomed to handy digital services. Our mission is to create a military service environment as modern and comfortable as possible while being mindful of the army's specific requirements,” emphasized Kateryna Chernohorenko.

The Deputy Minister highlighted that the significant innovations of Army+ will encompass:

  • A training module with basic knowledge of military affairs, which has already received endorsement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;

  • An electronic version of a military identity card that will hold equal legal validity to a paper document;

  • A program offering bonuses, rewards, discounts, and social benefits for service members.

As for the Reserve+ application, it will incorporate an innovative recruitment service. This will enable persons liable for the military to access updated information about available positions in military units.

“We strive to make the mobilization process more transparent and informative. This aims to give enthusiastic individuals who voluntarily join the Defence Forces a complete overview of the opportunities within the military service,” the Deputy Minister emphasized.

Kateryna Chernohorenko expressed her belief that innovative transformations will contribute to developing the Ministry of Defence as a modern, world-class organization capable of quickly adapting to future challenges and effectively implementing advanced technologies.

The U.S. delegation acknowledged the considerable advancements achieved by the Ministry of Defence over the past year in innovations, including the establishment of the Drone Coalition and the implementation of important legislative initiatives. The delegation also offered their proposals to reform Ukraine's defense sector.
