DOT, the Ministry of Defence's acquisition agency, is in the process of digitalizing the rear services support for AFU

From now on, military personnel are no longer required to print out and sign paper documents to order foodstuff. To do this, they can use a Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) on primary documents.

The Minister of Defence of Ukraine signed the order to this effect. The decision is aimed at fostering further innovation within the Ministry of Defence.

DOT-Chain, an innovative IT system created by the DOT, includes QES as one of the crucial components for overseeing rear services support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The innovation allows for the electronic signing of invoices, acts, and complaints, eliminating the need for paper duplicates.

“The initiative of the Ministry of Defence streamlines document circulation and significantly speeds up the process of providing our defenders with everything they need. When every minute counts in wartime, adopting digital tools allows more efficient use of existing resources. Going digital cuts down on human mistakes and enables faster response to military needs. This marks a further step in establishing a contemporary and efficient rear services support system capable of meeting today's challenges,” said Dmytro Klimenkov, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine.

“The digitization of rear services support processes will reduce time spent on bureaucratic procedures, allowing for a stronger focus on the key task, which is operational support of our defenders. This order means less paperwork and faster, more efficient foodstuff orders for the army,” added Deputy Defence Minister of Ukraine Kateryna Chernohorenko.
